What can you hire?

Currently we hire out car seats, including infant capsules, convertible car seats, and booster seats for those local to us in Kapiti/Wellington.

What you can hire from us, will often depend on when you book as we find some seats are booked out quicker than others. Advance bookings are recommended for school holidays, especially the busy Christmas holiday period.

How does it work?

Reach out to us directly with:

• The age of your child
• Weights and heights if known
• The dates you are wishing to hire for

We will reply with a quote, valid for 14 days or until cancelled. If you accept the quote we will send an invoice for you to make payment in advance. Payment secures your booking.

If you are pregnant, we recommend organising your hire seat when around 30 weeks' pregnant, and booking collection from 2 weeks prior to your due date.

For those with visitors coming, we suggest starting your booking a couple of days prior to your visitors' arrival so that we can fully install the seats for you in time.

You will meet us to collect your hire seat at our showroom and our child restraint technician will walk you through how to safely use and install the seat you have hired.

We ask you to review our hire terms and conditions on our website and make a note of the expected return date.

When you are ready to return the seat, contact us to arrange to drop it back to us. At that point we will return any bond paid and visually assess condition.

How we ensure safety

One thing that puts people off hiring products, especially car seats, is not knowing whether it was in an accident or otherwise abused during the course of a prior hire. For your peace of mind:

• We offer a free exchange if a rental car seat is involved in an accident and is therefore no longer safe for use. 
• Our blanket policy is that we do not and will not re-rent damaged or expired items.
• All car seats are investigated by a Child Restraint Technician for any signs of damage before being approved as rentals.
• All products are investigated for any damage before being approved for continued use as rentals.
• We arrange for all products to be thoroughly cleaned before they are rented again.
• Ex-rentals are sold or donated well in advance of their expiry date.
