Defining what we do, and why we do it
Recently we've been defining the "mission" and "values" of Baby Box, and thought we might share on the blog and see what people think of them.
Our mission
Offer safe, high quality baby and toddler gear in a friendly environment.
Our values
Whanaungatanga - A sense of belonging, Baby Box is a place where children and babies are welcome along with their parents.
Manaakitanga - Caring and support. Our shop is a place for parents to come to for advice and support, not just products.
Mohiotanga - Sharing of information. This is important to us, and includes sharing information about child safety. We also have so many stories about our suppliers, what our products are made from, and why they are awesome.
Ahururanga - A place of safety, support and advice, shelter from judgement.
What are we going to do?
We're aiming to embody all of these things through:
- How we plan our shop layout, with parent's convenience in mind.
- Who we bring in to help us in the shop.
- How we train our staff.
- The services we provide, including car seat installs.
- The products we stock, with an emphasis on quality and making parent's lives easier.
